CameraWatch launched in the UK on 30 May 2007 and is a
not-for-profit, advisory body that supports CCTV users'
understanding and compliance with current policy and
legislation.
Mission Statement:
CameraWatch represents the interests of members through liaison
with legislative, prosecution and government organisations
throughout the UK and EU.
In consultation with the UK Information Commissioner's Office,
CameraWatch facilitates the implementation of the CCTV Code of
Practice, to support compliance in the use of CCTV systems and,
where appropriate, prosecutions using CCTV evidence.
Objectives:

- Facilitate discussion with a focus on data
protection and legal compliance
- Support the CCTV industry to ensure systems
are operated in accordance with legal requirements
